Deogratius Emili Ndokoye (51), a primary school teacher in Kigoma Ujiji Municipality in Kigoma Region, died instantly after being attacked by a group of bees in a mango tree near his home in Masanga Street.
The bees attacked the teacher shortly after the children who were leaving the school threw stones on the mango and caused the bees to start swarming and then they attacked him and started attacking him, which resulted in the loss of life.
The chairman of Masanga township, Lubabi Aron Nyabakali said that the incident is not the first in the area, the first time the bees attacked livestock where two dogs died and asked the Natural Resources Authorities to take action to remove the bees and if necessary the mango be cut for safety of citizens.
Neighbors have said that they tried to save his life but were unsuccessful because there were many bees and they failed to control them more quickly.
The late teacher Deogratius has left a wife and three children, the body of the deceased is expected to be transported to their home in Nyabitaka, Mabamba division in Kibondo District for other funeral steps.
